EMILIA
ANDREWS NAMED AWRT PHILADELPHIA/TRI-STATE
CHAPTER PRESIDENT
JENKINTOWN,
PA (October 3, 2005)
– Emilia Andrews, Vice President
and Senior Producer at Beholder
Productions, was inducted as the
American Women in Radio and Television
(AWRT) Philadelphia/Tri-State
Chapter President on October 1,
2005.
Founded in 1951,
the AWRT is a national non-profit
organization dedicated to advancing
the impact of women in the electronic
media and allied fields. Members
include radio broadcasters, television
anchors, news producers, public
relations managers and entertainment
attorneys.
The Philadelphia/
Tri-State chapter, representing
the country’s fourth largest Metropolitan
Statistical Area, was established
in 2003. Andrews represents the
local chapter’s third president,
a one-year term.
One of Andrews’ top
initiatives is to increase her
chapter’s educational and outreach
programs. “ I am blessed to be
working with passionate members
who are dedicated to their industry
and the growth of our chapter.
One of my top priorities is to
match college students who are
studying radio and television
with member mentors. This will
help the students get a more well-rounded
perspective of their chosen field.
I would also like to establish
a scholarship fund to assist students
in advancing their R+T careers,”
stated Andrews in a recent interview.
In addition to her
role as AWRT Philadelphia/Tri-State
President, Andrews, along with
her husband Craig, run Beholder
Productions, a full-service creative
firm that specializes in broadcast
communications. Based in suburban
Philadelphia, the creative visual
firm provides its clients with
video, editing, multi-media, graphics
and web-based applications, from
original consultation and conceptualization
through production and post-production.
