Why
DVD?
DVD
has three major advantages over videotape.
First, DVD is more permanent .
Experts estimate that a DVD will physically last
up to 100 years, while a videotape begins to deteriorate
after only a few years. Every time you watch
a videotape, it experiences wear and tear from being
dragged over rubber rollers and across hard, abrasive
video heads. DVD is played by a low power
laser light reflecting off the surface. Nothing
ever touches the DVD , so it doesn't wear out.
Second, DVD looks and sounds better .
The technology behind VHS videotape is almost 25
years old. DVD is the result of 25 years of
advancement and refinement.
Third, DVD provides a more active viewing
experience. What is going to excite
your audience more: watching a long, one hour
training video from beginning to end, or interacting
with a DVD program that has 30 menu choices, where
the viewer can choose what they need to see?
The more interactive your DVD , the more your viewer
will pay attention, and the more they will get out
of it.
